Experienced Texas Peace Officers are encouraged to apply. Prior law-enforcement experience is preferred, and qualifying experience may be recognized within the City’s approved Police Officer pay scale.

For licensed Texas Peace Officers seeking a full-time law-enforcement position with a professional, community-focused department.

Texas Peace Officer license required

Placement based on applicable experience and qualifications
Eligible for City benefits and applicable incentive pay

PAID ACADEMY PATH

Police Cadet

$15.76 Per Hour During Academy

Qualified applicants who are not yet licensed may be considered for the Police Cadet Program, providing paid employment while attending an accredited Texas law-enforcement academy.

Paid academy attendance
Must meet TCOLE and Department hiring standards
Must successfully complete licensing requirements
Transitions to applicable Police Officer pay upon appointment

VOLUNTEER SERVICE

Reserve Police Officer

Reserve Volunteer Position

Licensed peace officers interested in supporting Department operations, public safety, special assignments, and community needs.

Texas Peace Officer license required
Volunteer law-enforcement position
Same professional, training, and performance standards as other sworn officers
No employee pay or benefits except applicable duty-related coverage

SCHEDULE Rotating 12-Hour Shifts

84 hours per pay period, or as required to meet operational needs.

POLICE OFFICER PAY $21.08–$28.89/hr

Based on applicable job-related experience and qualifications.

STATUS Open Until Filled

RESERVE POLICE OFFICERS

Serve Your Community in a Reserve Capacity

The Teague Police Department also accepts applications for Reserve Police Officers.

Reserve Police Officers serve in a volunteer law-enforcement capacity and work alongside full-time officers in support of Department operations, public safety, special assignments, and community needs.

Reserve Officers are held to the same professional, licensing, hiring, training, and performance standards applicable to other sworn Police Officers.

Reserve positions are unpaid volunteer positions and do not include employee benefits, except for any applicable coverage provided by the City for duty-related injuries or authorized service activities.
