Welcome to the Teague Police Department
Serving Teague with Integrity, Equity, and Excellence
We’re honored to protect and serve the people of Teague, Texas. Our officers and professional staff are committed to proactive policing, responsive service, and strong partnerships with our neighborhoods and local businesses.
Holiday Notice: Our administrative office is closed on City‑observed holidays. Patrol and emergency services remain available 24/7.
Teague’s roots reach back to the Civil War era, when a small community known as Brewer grew on this site in the late 1800s. In 1906, the Trinity and Brazos Valley Railway located machine and car shops here, and the town was incorporated as Teague—renamed by railroad magnate Benjamin Franklin Yoakum in honor of his mother Narcissus Teague and her parents James and Jane Fowler Teague, early pioneers of Freestone County.
Today, Teague sits in western Freestone County, with U.S. Highway 84 connecting us to Fairfield (10 miles northeast) and Mexia (13 miles northwest). Texas State Highway 179 (Main Street) links Teague east to Dew (9 miles) and west toward Mexia.
It is the mission of the Teague Police Department to provide the highest levels of proactive and responsive service to the City of Teague in partnership with neighborhoods and the community.
We strive to detect and solve problems that enhance public safety and quality of life. Our work is guided by integrity, equity, and excellence.
Thank you for visiting our website. If we may be of service, please reach out to our professional staff.
