The Patrol Division is under the command of Lt. David Keale, under the direction of the Office of the Chief of Police.

Division Leadership

Lt. David Keale

  • Graduate, University of Houston–Downtown Police Academy (1995)
  • 20+ years of law enforcement experience
  • Holds a Master Peace Officer license
  • Served as county jailer, deputy sheriff, juvenile corrections officer, parole officer
  • Serving the citizens of Teague since February 2016

The Patrol Division provides 24/7 coverage across Teague. Patrol officers are the first line of response for calls for service, proactive policing, traffic enforcement, and neighborhood safety. Patrol works closely with CID, Administration, Animal Control, Code Enforcement, and partner agencies to address public safety needs.

Patrol Operations

What Patrol Does

  • Responds to calls for service (from car crashes to thefts, robberies, and more)
  • Patrols neighborhoods, businesses, and streets
  • Enforces traffic laws (speeding, insurance, registration)
  • Serves warrants and locates intoxicated drivers
  • Removes illegal guns and drugs from the streets
  • Solves problems with residents—supporting code enforcement and community concerns

Shift Structure

  • 12‑hour shifts with two rotations for Days and Nights
  • Alternating days off for consistent staffing

Senior officer; joined Teague PD in April 2019. Inspired to serve since childhood, he’s proud to serve Teague and considers his colleagues family.

Cadet Program

The next staff members have recently joined our department through Cadet program. They will be attending the police academy and, upon graduation, becoming full time officers for our department.
