The Patrol Division is the primary first-response component of the Teague Police Department. Patrol officers respond to calls for service, enforce traffic laws, conduct proactive patrol, address neighborhood concerns, assist motorists, and support investigations and other Department operations.
The Division operates under the command of Lieutenant David Keale, by direction of the Office of the Chief of Police.

Patrol Division Commander
Lieutenant Keale provides direct supervision and leadership for Patrol Division operations and assists in coordinating the Department’s front-line response to calls for service and community needs.
Patrol Division leadership includes responsibility for operational readiness, supervision, officer development, field response, policy compliance, and coordination with other Department divisions.
What Patrol Does
Patrol officers provide visible, responsive police service throughout the City of Teague and work closely with other Department divisions and partner agencies.
Emergency & Non-Emergency Response
Patrol officers respond to calls ranging from crimes in progress and disturbances to delayed reports, welfare concerns, public assistance, and other police matters.
Proactive Patrol
Officers patrol neighborhoods, businesses, schools, roadways, and public areas to deter crime, identify concerns, and maintain a visible law-enforcement presence.
Traffic Enforcement
Patrol officers enforce traffic laws, investigate crashes, address hazardous driving behavior, and work to improve roadway safety.
Neighborhood Concerns
Patrol assists with recurring neighborhood problems, suspicious activity, quality-of-life concerns, extra patrol requests, and community-safety issues.
Criminal Enforcement
Officers enforce criminal laws, make lawful arrests when appropriate, recover stolen property, seize illegal contraband, and initiate criminal investigations.
Department Coordination
Patrol works closely with Criminal Investigations, Administration & Records, Animal Control, Code Enforcement, dispatch, prosecutors, and partner agencies.
Continuous Patrol Coverage
The Patrol Division uses scheduled patrol assignments designed to maintain police coverage while responding to changing calls-for-service, staffing, and operational needs.
Patrol staffing is generally organized around rotating 12-hour assignments.
Patrol assignments are structured to provide police service during both daytime and nighttime hours.
Assignments may be adjusted to address calls for service, major incidents, investigations, training, special events, and other public-safety needs.

Patrol officers serve as the Department’s primary public-facing police response and work directly with residents, businesses, motorists, and visitors throughout the community.

Officer Hutchison serves in the Patrol Division and assists with calls for service, traffic enforcement, proactive patrol, criminal enforcement, and community policing responsibilities.

The Teague Police Department offers a paid Police Cadet sponsorship program for qualified applicants who are not yet licensed Texas Peace Officers.
Selected Cadets are employed by the City while attending an accredited Texas law-enforcement academy and working toward TCOLE peace-officer licensure.
Upon successful completion of academy training, licensing requirements, and appointment requirements, Cadets may transition to the applicable Police Officer position and pay scale.

Cadet Walls is participating in the Department’s Police Cadet Program while pursuing the training and licensing requirements necessary to become a Texas Peace Officer.
The Cadet Program provides a pathway for qualified applicants to begin serving the City while completing professional law-enforcement training.
